Kicking Off the Month of May

Kicking Off May

May is a busy month: from the Kentucky Derby to Jacksonville’s THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP, there is something to every weekend.

May is getting off to a busy start, especially here in the South.

Between the NFL Draft Thursday night, Tee-ing Off Downtown to kick off the week of The Players Championship golf tournament on Friday, and the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, there’s hardly a moment to spare.

It’s important to take a moment, relax, and enjoy this fabulous weather we are having.  You wouldn’t want to get sick and have to miss work next Friday. But, then again I hear, the best medicine is served cold along the greens of TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra.

If you aren’t going down to your local NFL stadium for the DRAFT PARTY, this is a great night to make a “Beer Cocktail.”  Grab your partner’s favorite local brew, for Matt it is Jacksonville’s Intuition’s People’s Pale Ale, your favorite Gin, ginger ale, and a lemon or two. It’s quick, festive, and a fun way to celebrate the Draft… even if you don’t like football.

Combine…
2/3 C – Chilled Local Brew
1/3 C – Ginger Ale
Top it off with a touch of Gin and the squeeze of a lemon.

If beer isn’t your thing… there is always champagne!

Now, sit back and enjoy the evening.

A Mix of Chic, Tradition, and a Baby

Elegant Pink and Gold Nursery

“I never wanted a nursery to look too babyish… A baby doesn’t know that it’s in a room just for them. I wanted it to be interesting.” -Coco Rocha, supermodel, Vogue

It was so reassuring to read those words in print because ALL the nurseries I have designed in my head have been “baby theme” free.  That baby will not know that Ariel is swimming “under the sea” on the wall next to the crib, nor will they understand that the mobile of Micro Machines is supposed to soothe them to sleep.

But, do you know who would have to look at “The Little Mermaid” everyday? Or will have to watch small cars float around in mid-air?

The mom.  Continue reading
