Fitzgerald said, “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” Even though the temperatures in the South can not yet be described as “crisp,” they are falling, pumpkins are appearing on porches, and autumn wreaths are being hung.
The smells of fall are many but this season my favorite is PUMPKIN CHAI, a blend of wild pumpkin, spicy masala chai tea, cardamon, ginger, and cinnamon scents in the limited edition candle from NEST.
NEST was started in 2005 by Laura Slatkin, who had previously garnered much fame with her family’s home fragrance company SLATKIN & CO that they sold to the Limited Brands, Inc. and is now sold in Bath & Body Works stores across the globe. NEST began as a luxury home fragrance manufacturing company that collaborated with private labels to develop their products. NEST’s client list reads like a “who’s who” of the luxury brand world listing such clients as Tory Burch, Jonathan Adler, Calvin Klein, NARS, Jason Wu, West Elm, Laura Mercier, AERIN, and Ralph Lauren. All of these brands turned to Laura Slatkin at NEST to create their eponymous fragrances.
In 2008, Laura launched her own line of home fragrances, available to the public, as the NEST Fragrances Collection. Each fall, NEST only pours a limited number of their autumn fragrance and once it is sold out, it is gone forever. The scent is warm and crisp and speaks to the call of new beginnings.
It is a great reminder to me that everyday is new, with no mistakes in it.
It is a great reminder of the redemption that can be found in God.
And it is a great reminder of the excitement that can be found in anticipation.
If you are in the Jacksonville, Florida area, Design Additions in Avondale still had 5 left as of Tuesday and Neiman Marcus still has some left that you can order online.
