In the 1600’s mirrors were very expensive, one of the most expensive things to own. That made Louis XVI’s Hall of Mirrors in Versailles even MORE of an impressive statement. It is 239.5 feet long and boasts over 357 mirrors. Using mirrors in decorating, in my opinion, is an absolute MUST. They reflect light, open up the space, and can add an elegant touch to every room.  Continue reading

Wallpaper is serious. It contributes to a woman’s increasing insanity in the short story, “The Yellow Wallpaper.” It even plays a role in Oscar Wilde’s last words, “This wallpaper and I are fighting a duel to the death.
